Light heavyweight prospect, Joshua Buatsi, 11-0, 9 KO’s, had little trouble with Marco Antonio Periban, 25-5-1, 16 KO’s, chasing him around the ring for three rounds and finally catching him in round four, prompting the referee to stop the fight after several barrages of punches.
Periban had been out of the ring for 2 years due to some problems with the Mexican mafia and he didn’t take an easy return to the ring as he took on the Olympic Bronze Medalist, Buatsi, a fighter looking to make a statement, which he did, but it wasn’t without problems. Buatsi seemed easy to hit, but the pitty-pat incoming wasn’t anything to worry about. He walked right through his opponent, but it’s going to be interesting what happens when he steps up against a live opponent.
