Olympic medalist, Josh Kelly, 10-0-1, 6 KO’s, didn’t look great in a unanimous decision win over the durable southpaw, Winston Campos, 31-7-6, 19 KO’s, by scores of 99-90 (twice) and 98-91.
From the opening bell, Kelly awkwardly controlled the fight and tried to potshot Campos, but not much landed and when it did land, it didn’t do much. Campos didn’t throw many punches, unless he had Kelly against the ropes. He would stay in a shell at most other points.
In the tenth round, Campos tripped over Kelly’s feet and it was called a knockdown, but it didn’t matter. Kelly clearly won the fight, but he doesn’t seem to be having a great transition from amateur to professional.
