Joe Cordina, 10-0, 7 KO’s, was able to land the better shots over the course of 12 rounds to take the unanimous decision win over Gavin Gwynne, 11-1, 1 KO, by scores of 116-110 (twice) and 116-111.
Cordina was the bigger puncher and that was really the story of the fight. Gwynne could not damage him at all even when he landed a shot perfectly on the chin. There was no danger for Cordina and he acted like it, making a lot of defensive mistakes in the ring but it didn’t matter. An overall uneventful fight with zero drama but a win is a win and Cordina can now move on to bigger and better things.
