House hunting should be an exciting time within our lives, seeking a new neighbourhood, a fresh start, however that search can sometimes be stressful, wondering if we will ever get the home we desire… Though one thing is for sure, it shouldn’t be the end of us…

Now as regards this cleverly plotted movie, written and directed by, Eric Hurt, it focuses upon the lives of two families, the, Hays and the, Thomson family, both in search of their new dream home and while doing so a mysterious man appears within their lives, wanting them to check out the seventy acre plot complete with farmhouse, known as lot 6485…

The Hays family are the first to arrive at this rundown farmhouse, the family being, Charlie Hays (Marc Singer), his daughter, Emmy (Janey Gioiosa) and wife, Susan (Hayley DuMond).

Then not long after the Thomson Family arrive being, Don Thomson (Art Lafleur) his wife, Leslie (Victoria Vance) and son, Jason (Paul McGill).

At first they both just seem two average American families, hard working and just want to better themselves however there is much more to these families than what they first appear…

The Hays family on leaving the house are forced off the road by a young woman who runs out in front of them and on leaving the car they notice she has an injury to the mouth, her tongue being cut out, the young girl played by (Rebekah Kennedy) is deeply distressed and it isn’t too long before the, Thomson family arrive at the scene, they all then decide to go along with the, Thomson family in their jeep, the distressed girl along with them, however where ever they drive they always seem to arrive at the farmhouse, as if it won’t let them escape, so finally out of petrol they are forced to spend the night there, the distressed girl having to be forced in to the house against her will…

And on entering the house, leaving seems impossible, as all roads and fields just lead back to the house, therefore desperation kicks in and what is truly unnerving is the fact that seven cans of stew mysteriously appear in the cupboard every day as if somebody expects them to stay. Then there are also sightings of ghosts and not forgetting the mysterious man that keeps reappearing…

Well I don’t want to give too much away regards this movie, though I will say, one by one the characters begin to die and there is a twist behind each fatality…

It leaves me to say, what I like about this movie is the character focus, as the character’s pasts begin to be unearthed and extremely dark secrets are revealed and also the fact the movie will have you gripped right until the end…

Eric Hurt, you have sure created a little magic here, well done…
