We start with a promo, introducing the people to Diamante. She talks about her work in the indies and her long road to AEW, but she’s up against the best, Hikaru Shida, the reigning champion. Shida is great and keeps getter better.
Shida extends her hand for a handshake and Diamante shrugs and pushes the champ’s face, setting the tone for the match. Shida gets aggressive and Diamante is not backing down. Shida starts landing her famous knees, a move that she uses to end matches with regularity.
Shida lands a missile dropkick and gets a near fall. Another big knee by Shida drops the challenger. Diamante finally gets some things done with some chops and a stunner. Shida ends it with a huge knee for the 1-2-3 and a successful defense of the title.
