This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite features a Heavyweight title match between defending champion, Hangman Page and Lance Archer in a Texas Death Match, which must mean that anything goes.
Archer has been an underachiever in his run in AEW. He’s always impressive, has the best theme in AEW and has the look of a champion. He needs to wear some gold sometime soon, but he will have his hands full with the defending champion, Page.
After defeating Bryan Danielson, Page asked for a challenger and Archer answered the call. The two have been battling since with the bigger man getting the advantage and he plans to brutalize Page and take the title, but he is the underdog going in without question.
Page has defeated bigger men including Brian Cage and Wardlow with his Buckshot Lariat and that is what Archer can expect to contend with. This will be an absolutely brutal match with the champion successfully defending with several Buckshot Lariats to close the deal and get the pin, but an upset isn’t impossible. Archer, at his best, is one of the best and holds a win over Jon Moxley. He could pull another upset this week.
Whatever the case, this is a great and fun matchup that will be brutal and show the talent of both men. I cannot wait.
