Geno McGahee, the filmmaker that has brought the horror world EVIL AWAKENING, RISE OF THE SCARECROWS and FAMILY SECRET has sent his brand of horror to one of the largest film festivals in the world and his two entries showed why X Posse Productions and Geno McGahee are part of the future of the horror genre.
HEAD HUNTER, a film that McGahee is planning to film in 2013, was entered into the festival in the screenplay competition and out of thousands of entries, finished in 12th place, two spots away from landing in the finals. McGahee noted that: “I was hoping to win the entire thing, but to place like this is very promising. I am very pleased with Shriekfest and wish the other participants well.”
SCARY TALES, McGahee’s anthology, nearly made the semifinals, coming in two spots behind the requirement, beating out hundreds of other entries. McGahee noted that “it was great to see SCARY TALES do that well. The competition is fierce and to beat out as many as I did to take this spot, I’m very pleased.”
