It’s been one year since AEW’s Dynamite debuted and that year flew by. We start off immediately with a tag team title match between the defending champions, FTR, with Tully Blanchard in their corner against the challengers, Best Friends.
The champions are 11-0 in AEW and were the ones that were able to stop the long-reigning champions, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page. They have proven to be one of the best tag teams in the world, if not the best.
As in most FTR matches, they have issues with speed and the Best Friends are using their speed to dictate the pace and control the early goings on. FTR’s strongpoint is their teamwork and classic move set and begin to take the momentum of the match and start doing some serious damage to Trent. They have cut off the ring.
Chuck Taylor finally gets into the ring and Tully Blanchard becomes a factor, interfering and returning the edge to his team. All four men are in the ring and the Best Friends are controlling the action. Tully is not happy.
The Best Friends land their finisher for a near fall. The action goes to the outside of the ring. Kip Sabian is trying to play video games and Trent is thrown right through it. That sucks. Sabian is furious and instructed Penelope Ford backstage.
FTR sneaks in a shot with the belt to Chuck Taylor’s head to get the 3 count and successfully defend the titles. Miro comes down and destroys the Best Friends. That’s what happens when you destroy his arcade game!
