Floyd Mayweather JR Lowers Himself to Fight Logan Paul in Exhibition – Boxing News

In August of 2017, Floyd Mayweather, JR., 50-0, 27 KO’s, was half of a circus that came to town when he took on MMA/UFC star, Conor McGregor, in a boxing ring.  It was a mismatch.  It was sensationalistic, but it was an actual fight and McGregor had a history of winning and being an elite fighter.

In 2018, Floyd would come back again in an exhibition against a Chinese kickboxer, Tenshin Nasukawa, getting the knockout in the very first round.  It was a quick cash grab for Money Mayweather and many suspected that we would see him again, but who would he fight?  A rematch with Manny Pacquiao was rumored along with a rematch with McGregor, but he’s gone in a total different and disappointing direction.  He is taking on YouTube sensation and boxing novice, Logan Paul, 0-1.

Paul’s one bout was against another novice, Olajide William Olatunji, and he was knocked down and defeated by split decision.  It was a messy fight that Paul did very little in.  He could not pull the trigger.  He froze and now he’s going to be facing Floyd Mayweather, JR.

The fight is being sold for 25 bucks as an “early bird special” with the price getting increasingly higher as the fight nears.  It is set for February 20th and it is the biggest mismatch I’ve seen put together in a long time.  Paul doesn’t belong in the same building as Floyd and this fight will be whatever Floyd wants it to be.  If he wants to carry Paul, it will go rounds.  If he wants a first round KO, it will be over within a minute.

Hopefully there’s a good undercard, but this is Mayweather we are talking about.  Don’t expect one.
