TS-1 Promotions announced five new matchups today for the Combate Americas Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event that will air live on television in the U.S. on Univision (12 a.m. ET/11 p.m. CT) and TUDN (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT), and in Mexico on Televisa Canal 5 (11 p.m. CDT) and TUDN Mexico (11 p.m. CDT) from Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, Nov. 8.

Priced from $20, tickets for the TS-1 Promotions-hosted Combate Americas live television event are on sale at CombateAmericas.com/SanAntonio.

In the previously announced bantamweight (135 pounds) main event, world-ranked, former “COPA COMBATE” one-night, eight-man tournament runner-up John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (17-4) of Mankato, Minn. will face off with red-hot rising star Eduardo “El Pube” Alvarado Osuna (8-5) of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico.

Among the new fights announced today for the event was the much-anticipated MMA debut of former Lucha Underground television series competitor and professional wrestling star Melissa “Thunder Rosa” Cervantes (0-0), who will face off with Nadine “Too Much” Mandiau (0-1) in a strawweight (115 pounds) contest.

Fighting out of San Antonio, Cervantes was born and raised in Tijuana.  Under the name “Kobra Moon,” she starred in seasons two and three of Lucha Underground, in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Cervantes has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2016 with San Antonio’s Brazilian Top Team.

Mandiau of San Diego, Calif. compiled a solid, 4-1 record as an amateur, with 3 of her 4 wins coming by way of (T)KO or submission.  She is looking to rebound from a first round (2:37) defeat via submission (armbar) at the hands of Vanessa Demopoulos on June 7.

In another featured bout announced today, Chris “Dirty Texas” Cortez (2-1) will battle Oscar “Jacare” Souza (4-3) in a 130-pound catchweight contest.

Cortez, a 25-year-old U.S. Army Staff Sergeant stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, will make his promotional debut for Combate Americas in what will also be his first start of 2019.

As an amateur competitor, Cortez posted a perfect, 5-0 record before making his professional debut with a first round (1:51) TKO (punches) on Mark Plata on March 31, 2018.

The explosive, 21-year-old Suarez of Tenerife, Spain is a former, two-time kickboxing champion with a powerful and versatile striking arsenal.  He has earned all four of his professional victories, to date, by way of (T)KO or submission.

In other action announced today, Ray “The Judge” Rodriguez (15-6) of San Antonio will return to La Jaula, the Combate Americas competition cage, and take on fellow Combate Americas veteran Andy “Golden Boy” Perez (7-10) of Tucson, Ariz. at a catchweight of 140 pounds.

In bantamweight action, Justin “The Therapist” Governale (7-6) of San Antonio will square off with Peter Caballero (6-4) of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Roy “The Red Rooster” Sarabia (1-1) of San Antonio will face Carlos Melara (2-3) of Sugarland, Texas at featherweight (145 pounds).
