DVD Review “Sister Wives 2” (2011)

As a “Non-Polygamist” (can I call myself that?) I really don’t understand Polygamy. So I reached out to the World Wide Web to learn a little more about it after watching several episodes of “Sister Wives 2”. It has quite an interesting history. I learned that the word Polygamy means “a marriage that includes more than two partners”. Kind of like an affair, but everyone in the relationship knows about it. Polygamy is broken down into three distinct groups and they are “Polygyny”…when a man has more than one wife, Ala Kody Brown and his FOUR wives of “Sister Wives 2”. The second “Polyandry” is when a woman is married to more than one man, and the third is “Group Marriage” where there is more than one husband and wife. OK, got it? Just imagine trying to sort those underwear on laundry day.

When I was first given this copy to review I was not looking forward to watching the program. I generally don’t like many of the reality shows out there and hey, I’m too busy doing boring day to day tasks to sit on my couch and watch someone else do theirs. I will say, I was somewhat surprised at how well done this series is. It actually held my interest through the two episodes I was able to watch. Whether you are for or against polygamy the show does portray a happy family that seems to have great family values. How many TV programs do that now a days? There is one husband, four wives and somewhere around a dozen kids. The cool thing is, if you believe you have a weird family situation, you can watch “Sister Wives 2” and say,”I guess I’m pretty normal and socially acceptable”. If after watching it, you can’t say that, then maybe you are a candidate for your own TV show.

Overall a pretty good series. “Sister Wives 2” is a single DVD with 5 episodes from season two on it. BUT WAIT!….THERE”S MORE!!! Order now and get a bonus episode “Sister Wives Honeymoon Special” if you order in the next ten minutes! OK, so you don’t have to order in the next ten minutes because the bonus episode is included no matter when you buy it. Six total episodes is more than enough to watch if you want a taste of this show. I’m sure you can get the entire series if you so chose.

I asked my wife if I could marry a couple more women like Kody Brown on TV and she said flat out NO!…so I’ve chosen to remain a Monogynist.
