Breaking Glass Pictures is pleased to announce the April 1st OnDemand & iTunes release and April 11th Los Angeles theatrical release of festival favorite Detonator, the feature debut from co-directors Damon Maulucci & Keir Politz. Called “one of the strongest pictures at the [2013 Brooklyn Film Festival] fest” by The Village Voice, Detonator received 4 ½ stars from Film Threat Magazine and stars Lawrence Michael Levine (SXSW 2014 hit Wild Canaries), Ben Fine, Robert Longstreet (Ping Pong Summer, Take Shelter), director Joe Swanberg (Drinking Buddies), Sophia Takal (Wild Canaries), and Dawn Hall and boasts a score by Joe Jack Talcum, lead guitarist/co-vocals for punk legends The Dead Milkmen.
Sully (Levine), former frontman of a prominent Philly punk band, struggles for a new identity after moving into an affordable rental outside of Philadelphia with Karen (Hall) and their 5-year-old son. Mick (Fine), his ex-bandmate, resurfaces with a promise to pay back money owed. In a long night, Sully must negotiate a gauntlet of revenge and deceit in order to get back home.
Called “…the discovery of the [Brooklyn Film] festival” by Filmmaker Magazine, Detonator will be released theatrically in Los Angeles at the Arena Theater in Hollywood on April 11th.
