The Stanley Hotel, part of the Grand Heritage Hotel Group, will be the host venue for the Stanley Film Festival – Chapter II (SFF). Presented by NBC Universal’s Chiller, SFF is scheduled for April 24-27, 2014. The four-day event will celebrate the best in independent horror cinema with a full slate of films, panels, competitions, audience awards and special events – all at the beautiful and historically haunted Stanley Hotel

The Denver Film Society has partnered with the Stanley Hotel to produce the festival. “We are proud to partner with the Stanley Hotel to produce this unique event,” said Tom Botelho, Executive Director, Denver Film Society, “it is a dream come true to bring a world-class festival at the world’s most haunted hotel to lovers of the horror genre.”

The Stanley Hotel is consistently ranked as the #1 haunted hotel in the world and inspired one of the greatest horror novels of all time, The Shining.  “Thousand of fans travel every year to the Stanley Hotel to take our Horror Tour.  The Stanley Hotel has a long-standing history and the inspiration it provides fans from all over the world is an essential piece of our story,” said John Cullen, Grand Heritage Hotel Group Founder.  “We look forward to continuing the tradition and inspiring horror filmmakers to create and exhibit their work for a new worldwide audience at this iconic venue.

All screenings and receptions at the Stanley Film Festival will take place at The Stanley Hotel and throughout Estes Park at the Reel Mountain Theater and Historic Park Theatre. The Historic Park Theatre is the oldest operating movie theater in the United States. While the theater has undergone a recent conversion to digital projection, it has maintained its historic integrity and naturally, has some ghost stories of its own. All access packages to attend the Stanley Film Festival and stay at the historic hotel for all 3 nights of the festival are on sale now.  Festival patron and ticket passes range from $40.00 (day pass) to $295.00 for an all access patron pass.  All ticket and hotel packages are available at www.StanleyFilmFest.com.

“We are beyond overjoyed to head back into the haunted recesses of this infamous venue and once again populate it with the spookiest stories put to film,” says Landon Zakheim, Program Director, SFF, “With the Stanley Hotel, we have found the perfect location for a communal celebration that welcomes filmmakers, experts, hardcore fans and the casually curious alike.”
