WBO middleweight champion, Demetrius Andrade, 26-0, 16 KO’s, knocked his challenger, Walter Kautondokwa, 17-1, 16 KO’s, in the first round and hit again when he was down, which could have been a disqualification. In the third round, Andrade scored a devastating knockdown, but, amazingly, the challenger got up. In the fourth round, both men went down in a double knockdown, but Kauton was the more hurt. He would go down again but he got up again. He was there to win.
The talent difference was the difference and Andrade was able to maintain control and avoid the incoming, winning a unanimous decision by scores of 120-104 (twice) and 119-105. It was a good performance and a great display of heart by the challenger.
