Shattered is a hardcore metal band out of Tampa, Florida. Founded in 2014, the group has bought their brand of death metal/thrash to the public and they keep on moving forward, earning a fan base and creating music sure to satisfy the metal fans out there.
Scared Stiff had a chance to sit down with Tony Pettry, the founder of Shattered to talk about the band and what they have in store for the people…
GM: Can you introduce yourself to the public? How would you describe your band, your style, your message?
Hello, I am Tony Pettry the founder and guitarist of Shattered. We are a Heavy Metal band with a very unique style which mixes so many gen. together.
GM: What got you into music?
I started listening to Heavy Metal over 30 years ago and I just fell in love the first time I was allowed to hold an instrument. I just knew at that point I wanted to be a musician.
GM: What musicians/bands were your inspirations?
Me personally, a huge King Diamond Fan, Iron Maiden, Kiss , and Danzig.
GM: Talk about your latest album. What should the public expect?
Our new album that we are working on is named Skinwalker. The fan should expect to be drawn in and experience a very unique style that is going to make you want to put the cd on repeat.
GM: What has been the best experience you’ve had being in the business?
The best experience I have had is sharing the stage with so many great musicians and icons I grew up listening to.
GM: What has been the worst experience you’ve had?
Having to put up with egos would probably be the worst. It takes fun out of things for sure.
GM: With the changing mediums in the distribution of music, how difficult is it to make a living in the business?
Like winning the lotto. You have to be very lucky.
GM: Any final thoughts?
I would like to say thank you to everyone that supports us and believes in what we do.
