Danny Garcia – Manny Pacquiao NOT A PPV TO BE MADE: Conor McGregor Fight Evaporates – Boxing News

Last night, Danny Garcia, 36-2, 21 KO’s, battered and beat the overmatched Ivan Redkach last night, cruising to a wide unanimous decision.  Prior to the fight, there was a lot of talk of a showdown with the Filipino superstar, Manny Pacquiao, 62-7-2, 39 KO’s. When the fight concluded, the Showtime commentary team was still talking about the fight, but Garcia did not show anything that should propel him into a big fight with the PacMan and there is no drama and nothing on the line.

The big fight atmosphere is what is typically depended on to sell a fight and to get the boxing japanese fans to the casinos to put down some money on their favorite pugilist to win.  Online casinos (オンラインンカジノ最高の日本のカジノ2020をプレイできるサイト。) have been the place of choice for the japanese boxing fans that aren’t ringside but find themselves in the comfort of their own home. Gambling and boxing have gone hand in hand since the infancy of the sport and it has recently been very popular as the sport increases in popularity along with the UFC.  A Garcia-Pacquiao PPV isn’t a good sell but with the money coming in on the PacMan, I could see Garcia becoming a heavy underdog where some smart money might fall on him to win.

If Garcia came out and destroyed Redkach, then there could be talk about a showdown with Manny, but it is safe to say that a match with the older PacMan would be a slow dance that would go 12 rounds and Manny would most likely take the close decision.  The recent history of terrible boxing PPV undercards, a Garcia-Pacquiao PPV would have to include a stacked undercard, but we know better than that. We don’t see those too often anymore.

This talk of a Garcia fight came up as the talk of a Pacquiao-McGregor fight died down.  McGregor’s talk of a return to boxing has brought out Floyd Mayweather, JR., eying another big payday and their boxing vs. UFC PPV brought in an incredible amount of attention and money.  A rematch would do the same.  This is why Pacquiao wanted the fight with McGregor.  The money is there and an MMA-trained fighter will not have the skillset to compete with a world class boxer, just as a trained boxer will not jump into the cage and own it.

Danny Garcia is just not a PPV-headlining fighter.  He’s lost the most important fights of his career and does not have the knockout power that the Showtime team was speaking of.  He can hit, but he’s not the sort of fighter that can end a fight in the blink of an eye.  Pacquiao will take the Garcia fight if the money is right, but expect another boring dance with very little drama.  I recommend Manny look elsewhere.
