What a dull shit show we saw tonight in the main event on DAZN. Super middleweight Daniel Jacobs, 37-3, 30 KO’s, was totally disappointing in a split decision victory over Gabriel Rosado, 25-13-1, 14 KO’s, by scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 113-115. It was a fight that should have been a draw where neither man deserved to win.
Jacobs didn’t do much in this fight and just followed Rosado around the ring as he just tried to survive and steal it with minimal effort. This was basically a sparring session that Jacobs eked by in and it was a disgrace to his career. He put forth zero effort as Rosado didn’t do much more. This fight does nothing to help the career of Jacobs. In fact, there’s no incentive for any marquee fighter to take him on.
