Combate Americas returned to the Auditorio del Estado of Mexicali, B.C., with an action-packed card and crowning its first ever lightweight champion, Mexican Rafa “Gifted” Garcia.
In the main event, Californian fighter Erick “The Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez (10-4) faced Mexican Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (11-0) to see who would be crowned the first ever Combate Americas’ World Lightweight Champion.
After a great battle that saw Garcia as the protagonist, who achieved multiple takedowns, the Mexican took the victory by unanimous decision.
The co-headliner saw the promising youngster Yazmin Jauregui (4-0) as the winner by unanimous decision, after dominating Yajaira “Shoko” Romo (5-4).
