The TNT champion, Darby Allin, is a superstar. Despite the small crowd, they are roaring loudly for Allin. AEW found something special in Allin. I believe it was Chris Jericho that brought him in and it was a great find for the company.
Cody Rhodes comes to the ring with Arn Anderson as they prepare to take on Team Taz in tag team action. Rhodes is headed for a showdown with (yawn) Shaq. Shaq has teased involvement in pro wrestling, including a Wrestlemania match with the Big Show that never happened. Now he’s looking to face Cody. I hope they don’t bring Jay Leno back.
Cage is the wildcard in this match. He is incredibly strong and his power is an immediate factor, but Cody is showing that he can hang in there and control the big man. Cody has been bulking up to take on the bigger guys and it’s paying off now in this tag team match.
Cage takes the advantage with the help of Taz interference. Starks is relentless in his attacks on Cody but he’s being overpowered. Darby Allin gets the hot tag and starts beating down both members of Team Taz. Cage returns and suplexes both Darby and Starks at the same time.
After some great moves by Allin, Cage has taken full control, beating Cody and Allin down to the ground. Cage lands an Avalanche Drill Claw from the top rope to get the 1-2-3 count. It was a great win for Team Taz.
Will Hobbs comes down to bail out Darby and Cody and turns on them and joins Team Taz. Hobbs is a great addition.
