The former TNT champion, Cody Rhodes, will team up with the man that took that title, Darby Allin, to take on Team Taz, Ricky Starks and Brian Cage. Taz will be at ringside to support his team. Recently, Taz has shown his disgust with the handling of his team by AEW and how they’ve been ignored when it comes to title opportunities and even getting matches at PPVs. They know that the road to the big time goes through Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin.
Allin has been a target for Team Taz for some time and now that he has the gold, he’s even more of one. Starks and Cage have both been on winning streaks. Cage was beaten by Jon Moxley, but has otherwise been flawless. Starks has lost to Cody and Darby in his two defeats. There is plenty of bad blood here.
I think that Team Taz steals this one. Perhaps the recent lack of focus from Cody will tell the story or his apparent heel turn will happen and screw Darby in the match. It should be interesting.
