Nine of Wands
In a traditional tarot deck, the Nine of Wands shows a man who is battered and bruised. He has a bandage wrapped around his head hiding injuries and is surrounded by obstacles in his way. Still, he is standing tall. He clutches on to a wand for support, but remains strong in conviction and determination.
When the tarot reveals this card, it signifies a powerful and ambitious soul forced into a position of defensiveness by a negative or draining force. You have your guard up and are suspicious of the motives of another. You may feel badly for suspecting the worst, but don’t second guess yourself. Your intuition is correct. The individual or individuals who are causing drama, conflict and bad juju are doing so intentionally. They may not be bad people, but they are fully aware that their actions have consequences and revel in the fallout.
You have come so far and attained so much. Your intellect, instincts, essence, aura and optimism fuel envy and desperation in those who haven’t your talents and traits. Your kindness opens doors and sadly sometimes a denigrative, calculated and devious mind will walk in. They will take the opportunity to try and destroy your joy, confidence and peace. They are disrupters and motivated by the worst in human nature.
Your sympathetic side is often appealed to. You may be approached with exaggerated sob stories, pleas for help or simply cynicism. Your longing to help is often greeted with pessimism and rejection. Don’t waste your time. This person is not looking for help. They are instead looking to bring you down. The cliché “misery loves company” exists for a reason, and this person is living proof.
The good news is that regardless of how hard this apathetic and dismissive person tries, they will be defeated. You have faced obstacles bigger and badder than a person with a rotten attitude. You owe them nothing and you’re starting to figure that out. You may have a pang of undeserved guilt once in awhile, but you see things clearly. You see their true colors and simply need to be reminded of it once in awhile.
You also have people, spirit guides, angels and loved ones long gone who are watching out for you and protecting your interests. They all see how far you’ve come and admire your resilience. They are proud of your efforts and ability to stand up when expected to cower. Whether living or dead, human or energetic light force, you are cared for deeply and in safe loving hands. Trust in them and lean on them as they won’t let you down, and are always there with a listening ear.
It is easy to see that you have kept going where others would have easily given up. That is why the finish line is in your eye’s view. Your efforts have led to great success and the riches, whether in love and happiness or in monetary gain, are about to fall into your lap.
Be aware that your auspicious, exuberant and sunny lease on life will further aggravate the unprincipled and cruel among you. Rather than look to you like the shining example of triumph and perseverance you are, they only feel jealousy and anger. Let them throw their tantrums. If they get too loud, block them out of your life. You don’t need them. You have so many in your corner who see the wonder that you are and love you for it. You don’t need the ones who condemn you for it.
