We get a breakdown of the Matt Hardy – Sammy Guevara main event match up. I cannot wait for this match. Guevara and Hardy are two of the most amusing characters in the game today. Hardy is looking for revenge after his friend, Vanguard One, was destroyed. Guevara is looking for revenge after being hit by a golf cart driven by Hardy. This is bad blood.
Hearing the announcer saying “Broken Matt Hardy” is awesome. The WWE “Woken” shit was an insult to the character and fans.
I’m happy to see that Guevara has recovered. There is no neck brace tonight. I’m not sure he should be wrestling though. He may not be 100% and Hardy is immediately dominating the match, beating Guevara down.
Hardy goes for the twist of fate and Guevara does a handstand counter that was just awesome. Guevara is one of the best and is always in a good match. Hardy lands the side effect for a 2 count and Guevara survives and fights on. A twist of fate knocks Guevara to the floor.
Guevara has a great comeback, landing head kick after head kick, but it only gets a 2 count. Hardy lands another twist of fate that gets a 2 count again. How did Guevara survive that?! Hardy gets frustrated and takes off Guevara’s shoe and bites his toes. He is known to bite.
Guevara lands a springboard diamond cutter for a near fall. He then looks for the shooting star press, but it’s countered and Hardy lands another twist of fate to get the 1-2-3. What a match. Broken Matt Hardy is something special and he is being allowed to explore the character in AEW, thank god.
As Hardy plans to do more damage to Guevara with a chair, the Inner Circle has kidnapped Kenny Omega, prompting Hardy to run over. The Young Bucks return to go after the Inner Circle. It’s a great lead up to the Stadium Stampede at DOUBLE OR NOTHING Saturday night.
