Brodie Lee Celebration of Life: AEW Dynamite (12/29) – Pro Wrestling Preview & News

It’s very hard to believe that the leader of the Dark Order, Brodie Lee, has passed away at the age of 41.  He was great at his craft and started to live up to the potential that everyone saw but the WWE.  As the leader of the Dark Order, he became the Exalted One and made it one of the most compelling characters in pro wrestling history.  It’s a shame that he wasn’t able to go further with it and become the headliner that he was destined to be.   Now, AEW has dedicated this week’s Dynamite to Brodie Lee in a very classy move and I will be watching, but it will be sad in many ways.

THE YOUNG BUCKS & COLT CABANA VS. MATT HARDY & PRIVATE PARTY

Colt Cabana has had a history with Brodie Lee, becoming his star pupil, and he was growing week by week.  Now, he will be teaming with the tag team champions, the Young Bucks, to take on Matt Hardy and Private Party.  Hardy has been turning heel and we should see the complete turn this week.  Look for Hardy to screw over Private Party, leading to a victory by the Bucks and Cabana.

EDDIE KINGSTON, BUTCHER & BLADE VS. LANCE ARCHER, EVIL UNO & STU GRAYSON

You can’t go wrong with Evil Uno is wrestling. He is one of the best things going in AEW and I hope that they don’t disband the Dark Order and leave him in limbo.  He will be teaming up with Stu Grayson and the interesting addition to the team, Lance Archer.   If they continue the Dark Order, I could see Archer taking it over.  Expect Archer, Uno and Stu to win because whenever you see the Butcher and Blade involved, they are certain to lose.

MJF, SANTANA & ORTIZ VS. HANGMAN PAGE, JOHN SILVER & ALEX REYNOLDS

For weeks, Hangman Page has been the subject of interest by the Dark Order and the amusing John Silver and Alex Reynolds have been trying to bring him into the group.  MJF, Santana and Ortiz are not without their problems but have been ironing out the kinks within the Inner Circle and should gel here in this six man tag.  Page is the wildcard in this and could put away any of the three opponents but if MJF can get Silver or Reynolds isolated, I could see a controversial win for the Inner Circle.

CODY RHODES, ORANGE CASSIDY & 10 VS. BRIAN CAGE, RICKY STARKS & POWERHOUSE HOBBS (TEAM TAZ)

The very unlikely pairing of Cody Rhodes, Orange Cassidy and 10 of the Dark Order, will be taking on Team Taz in six man action.   This is a very interesting match and you can never lose with Orange Cassidy.  He is hilarious and I could see him frustrating the larger opposition with his mobility and counters.  As much as I would lean to Team Taz for the win, but I suspect that they won’t and that 10 will score the pinfall win to give tribute to Brodie Lee.

So, get ready for an emotional night and a memorable one.  It has still not registered that Brodie Lee is gone, but AEW is showing their class in this event this week.
