Lionsgate has just released BIRDS LIKE US, an animated film that has just hit Digital, On Demand and DVD and follows the road paved by films like ANGRY BIRDS and MADAGASCAR.
The film features a group of birds that have forgotten how to fly and want something more out of life. They come across a wise bat that vows to show them a better way as they contend with a vulture named “Kondor” that has made their lives miserable. This follows the formula that most of these animated animal family movies do and it does it quite well.
Overall, the voice acting is good and the animation isn’t bad. Compared to some of the high budget animated films, it can be torn apart, but all things considered this is a good effort and certainly watchable.
BIRDS LIKE US is a decent family film that the children will probably enjoy more than the adults, but I put it just under films like RIO and MADAGASCAR. It follows their footsteps but just isn’t as good. If your kids enjoyed those films, odds are they will like this one. I recommend it.
