Punk act Bayside are unleashing one of the band’s heaviest songs to date. Fans can listen to the sharp and searing “Prayers,” streaming now, here: smarturl.it/baysideprayers.
“We wanted a riff that acted as a musical theme to the song and once we wrote the ‘Prayers’ riff, it sort of told a story on its own,” lead singer Anthony Raneri shares. “The drama and heaviness in that opening riff alone easily set the tone for the rest of the song.”
Bayside represent a lifestyle, a counterculture, and a deeply held conviction, diverse in thought and background but united by a shared desire for authentic expression. It’s a spirit that permeates an impressive and storied discography, including Sirens and Condolences (2004), Bayside (2005), The Walking Wounded (2007, celebrated with a 10 Year Anniversary tour in 2017), Shudder (2008), Killing Time (2011), Cult (one of Kerrang!’s Top Albums of 2014), and Vacancy (2016).
Last year the band celebrated their fans with the release of Acoustic Volume 2, a collection of re-imagined versions of songs from across Bayside’s discography. Acoustic Volume 2 secured the #4 spot on the Current Alternative chart, as well as #7 Record Label Independent, #8 on both Top Current Rock and LP Vinyl, and #14 Current Digital, among others. It has been heralded online and in print by Billboard, Newsday, Forbes, Paste Magazine, Spotify’s Punk Unplugged Playlist, and more. The album can be streamed on Spotify and Apple Music, or purchased online at baysidebayside.com.
Bayside has returned with the band’s newest single, “Prayers,” which is out now and available at smarturl.it/baysideprayers.
