Holy fucking shit. Andy Ruiz, 33-1, 22 KO’s, has become the world heavyweight champion with a seventh round stoppage of Anthony Joshua, 22-1, 21 KO’s. It was an amazing and electric fight that showed that Ruiz is a legit fighter and that Joshua’s questionable chin is not in question anymore. Why didn’t the Deontay Wilder fight happen? THIS IS WHY!
In the third round, Ruiz was dropped with a left hook. Joshua attacked and got clipped and got dropped hard. He would get up and get dropped again, later in the round. Joshua was winded and wanted out and in the sixth round, he looked totally dejected and wanted out. In the seventh round, Joshua was dropped again, twice, and Joshua walked to his corner and did not answer the referee. He quit. It is shocking. This is Mike Tyson – Buster Douglas all over again. This is why boxing is the best sport in the world.
