In a shocker, Alexander Povetkin, 36-2-1, 25 KO’s, got off the floor twice to knock out the #1 contender, Dillian Whyte, 27-2, 18 KO’s, in round five with a vicious left uppercut.
The first three rounds were an exchange of body work between both men. In round four, a left hook would drop Povetkin. Shortly after, a left uppercut would drop Povetkin again. He barely survived the round.
Immediately in round five, Povetkin would dip and land a vicious left uppercut to put Whyte down and out. What a shocker! The old lion lives on for another opportunity.
