Adam Kownacki, 19-0, 15 KO’s, easily knocked out former WBC heavyweight title challenger, Gerald Washington, 19-3-1, 12 KO’s, in two rounds. From the opening round, Kownacki pounced on the bigger Washington, landing his hard shots and pushing him back. Late in round one, he stunned Washington and he was wobbly going back to his corner.
In the second round, Kownacki dropped Washington with a combination. He got up on wobbly legs and was allowed to continue, which it probably should have been stopped there. The Polish heavyweight pounced and it was over quickly after that.
Kownacki wants Deontay Wilder in his next fight and he’s proving to be a legitimate contender for that crown.
