ABBOT ELEMENTARY is an ABC TV show that found its footing very quickly and became popular and well-received and the first season has just been released from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, featuring all thirteen episodes and some special features as well.  It is also available digitally.

The show takes the viewer into the public schools in Philadelphia and it is presented in a mockumentary style.  The show has the ability to use the teaching life and make it hilarious, mixing in quick writing with great characters and acting.

The humor is gloves off and hits you out of the blue.  I found myself laughing a lot watching this series and the episodes are written in such a manner that they fly by.  The writing is witty and fast and the situations are amusing throughout.  The characters are likable and their timing is amazing.  The show doesn’t rely on each episode linking to each other.  Each episode is its own thing and puts a hilarious spin on the plight of the teachers.

ABBOT ELEMENTARY: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON is now available on DVD and digitally and is a lot of fun, bringing laughs and some great characters to the screen.  I highly recommend it.
