Ziyad Almaayouf, 2-0, 1 KO, survived a true test in just his second fight with a 4 round unanimous decision over the game Ronald Martinez, 3-2-1. Before the fight, Zizo was all talk about how great he was and how quickly he was going to stop Martinez, noting that it would be over quicker than it takes to save his name. It didn’t turn out that way.
Zizo attacked early and recklessly and ran into a right hand from Martinez and he was dropped. That is not a good sign for Zizo’s future, considering he was dropped by a fighter that has never scored a knockout.
The blitzing reckless approach was switched out with a jabbing and boxing approach and that made the difference with Zizo sweeping the last three rounds and getting the unanimous decision by scores of 38-37 across the board. It’s safe to say that Zizo wasn’t going to leave without a victory considering where the fight was taking place and the status of Zizo in Saudi Arabia.
