Muhsin Cason, 11-0, 8 KO’s, came out of his corner and landed an immediate right hand that really hurt and dropped Taryel Jafarov, 18-6, 17 KO’s. He got up at nine and was really wobbly. Cason is the brother of former heavyweight champion, Hasim Rahman, and apparently the right hand runs in the family.
Cason was just chasing Jafarov around the ring and putting on a beating toward the end of the round. The Jafarov corner decided not to allow their fighter to come out for round two and that was the right decision. As they stood when the winner was announced he seemed very shaky and erring on the side of caution was the way to go. There was no reason for him to be hurt in this ring.
