This Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, the long-awaited showdown will take place between CM Punk, 11-0, and MJF, 30-9, after weeks of feuding and taking jabs at each other.

CM Punk became famous for his ability to speak to the crowd and his opponents which is something that MJF specializes in.  When they finally came face to face in the ring, nothing was off limits, including the UFC failure and lack of headlining Wrestlemania that MJF brought up.  Punk held his own, but MJF seemed to strike lower and more to the core.

To get a match with MJF, Punk had to take on other members of the Pinnacle and defeated Wardlow and Shawn Spears.  Now he gets his shot at MJF and there is a lot that can happen in this match that could impact its outcome.

There has been an ongoing feud with Wardlow and MJF brewing and it’s possible that the big man may turn on his old boss and friend to cost him the match.  I think it’s too soon to pull the trigger on that, but it’s possible.  It’s also very possible that Wardlow does his job and pulls a switch on Punk, hinting a turn on MJF only to strike Punk and cost him the match.

I think we can rule out a draw or a count out in this one.  This one will end with some shenanigans I’m sure, but it will be a 1-2-3.  The question is: Who wins?

Hangman Page needs opponents that can draw and there are only a handful of heels that he can choose from that will get people really intrigued.  He’s most likely going to defeat Lance Archer leaving the opening for another challenge and that will be MJF.

MJF will beat CM Punk by pin fall with plenty of cheating throughout.  I suspect Wardlow will be the reason why MJF wins.  For CM Punk, I think it’s time for him to turn heel.  He is a much better heel.  The feel good return has been nice, but his ability to be a heel should not be denied.
