Just announced is the women’s AEW title with Nyla Rose defending against Hikaru Shida. We go right into a match I was really looking forward to: Santana & Ortiz taking on Kenny Omega and Broken Matt Hardy in what is sure to be a ridiculous match.
Ortiz and Santana attack immediately as Omega tries to walk out to the ring. Broken Matt Hardy walks out and goes to war with Santana and bites him and also controls the fire apparently. He is magic. I love Broken Matt. It’s so good to see him aback after all these years to the form that we loved in IMPACT.
We get the tiger claw from Ortiz. I wish he did it more. It’s so funny. Hardy drops a leg on Santana, but not before screaming “wonderful!” AEW is letting Hardy do what he does best and this Broken character is such a great addition to the company and they know it.
Ortiz swivels his crotch, which he’s been doing lately, Rick Rude style, and Hardy is disgusted. They have to put these two together as often as they can. So amusing. Ortiz does the crotch swivel again, right in Omega’s face, and I’m laughing out loud. You can just see the fun that Ortiz is having in there. Love the tiger claw too. What fun this is.
Hardy landed the twist of fate on Santana, but the pin is broken up at 2 by Ortiz. Hardy has some of the best finishers in wrestling. The side effect and twist of fate are awesome moves.
In one of the funniest moments in wrestling history, Sammy Guevara came down to the ring with a chair, barely able to move since being hit with a golf cart last week. Complete with a neck brace, Guevara entered the ring and couldn’t even lift the chair. He is immediately hit with the twist of fate and totaled. What a fucking funny moment.
Hardy ends the match with Hardy landing the twist of fate from the top rope for the 1-2-3 in a great fun match that I’m still laughing about.
