Dillian Whyte, 26-1, 18 KO’s, has rebuilt his career after his only loss to Anthony Joshua and is the mandatory for WBC Kingpin, Deontay Wilder, 41-0-1, 40 KO’s, but a recent positive test for a banned substance after his fight with Oscar Rivas has sent a shockwave through his career. Deontay Wilder has already voiced his disgust and this is nothing new for him. Luis Ortiz and Alexander Povetkin both tested positive for PEDs going into potential bouts with Wilder. Jarrell Miller lost his chance at a title against Joshua also failed a test. Boxing has a hard time keeping the tarnish off its name and it’s due to situations like this.
Eddie Hearn, Whyte’s promoter, insists that his fighter was cleared for the fight. More details are to come but if Whyte is guilty of the offense, he may suffer a slight black-list from the game like Jarrell Miller recently has. Stay tuned…
