In 1995, FOX aired a tape which experts claimed to be an alien autopsy from the Roswell incident of 1947.   Many skeptics on the other hand declared it was a fraud from the moment it was shown.  The man who provided the tape, Ray Santilli, states that the truth lies somewhere in between.  He admits that what was shown was a reconstruction of something he had actually seen.  Essentially, a tape was provided to him showing an alien autopsy but the film was destroyed.  He had already sworn that he would deliver the tape so he and a few friends put everything together.

Alien Autopsy is a comedic version of the events that transpired as told by Santilli and his partner Gary Shoefield.

Santilli (Declan Donnelly) and Shoefield (Ant McPartlin) bring their story to Morgan (Bill Pullman) a man ready to put their story together for a film version.

The antics throughout and what the duo endure while attempting to get everything perfect for the autopsy is hilarious.  Both Donnelly and McPartlin are able to make the partners likeable despite the fact that they are deceiving the public.

Overall, the movie is a funny, strange and interesting tale which leaves the viewer wondering what really happened.  The film does deliver a decisive answer however in reality if one were to use critical thinking they would probably doubt the tape as a whole.

I happen to remember when Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction came out.  I was 15 years old and I bought it hook, line, and sinker!  At that point I truly believed that the proof of alien life was shown and no other investigation was necessary other than to find a living being.  I was sort of foolish and easily taken.  At times, I still am.

A great feature of the DVD is that it has a making-of featurette which is as intriguing as the movie itself.

Overall Rating:  7/10
