Malcolm Danare lights up the screen in DVD box office hit
Horror fans recognize him as “Moochie Wells” in John Carpenter’s adaptation of the Stephen King killer car classic “Christine.” Now, Malcolm Danare is being singled out for his perfect raciest performance as “Stuckey” in the action-packed thriller American Justice. The Paseo Miramar Pictures and D Street Films’ co-production is one of the week’s top renting independent films flying off the shelves at WalMarts everywhere and selling steadily via Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other online venues, scaring off the competition from independent and studio films alike.
An homage to the ‘80s action hero flick, American Justice is the explosive story of hard-hitting LAPD officer Jack Justice (Tommy “Tiny” Lister) framed for murder in a small Texas town, by the local crooked sheriff (John Schneider / Dukes of Hazzard) and his stable of corrupt cops including “Stuckey,” brilliantly played by Danare.
Danare jokes… “I’m used to getting terrorized by a 57 Plymouth Fury, so I can handle a little bullying from one of the Duke boys”. “John (Schneider) was really great to work with”. He’s so charming that even when he is being mean… you can’t help but like him.” And he surely is, a mean SOB in American Justice!
American Justice isn’t the first time Schneider and Danare have appeared on screen together. “We did a horror film back in 1987 called The Curse,” remembers Danare. In American Justice, fans get to see a different darker side to both John and myself. We had fun with that.”
During his long acting career, Danare was driven insane in The Curse, chased by Godzilla and obliterated by aliens in Independence Day. Malcolm’s first film break was his portrayal of a young cadet in the 1983 hit The Lords of Discipline…The role earned Danare a GOLDEN GLOBE nomination, for Best New Comer. He parlayed his talented performance into starring roles in big movies like Flashdance, Heaven Help Us, and of course in the blockbuster, Christine.
