Podcast by Forris Day JR

Ever wonder what is was like living in a nuclear submarine during the cold-war? You’ll find out in the memoir “Emergency Deep”. Author Richard Smith and Forris have a conversation about life in the navy aboard the USS Skipjack (SSN-585). Richard discusses the hardships endured by these sailors whose missions were so secret, that they are still not allowed to discuss them to this day. You’ll learn of the lifelong friendships made in this brotherhood of submariners, and the tragedy that befell many who were unable to handle the mental stress of this often thankless and  not so celebrated job, living and defending America’s freedom deep in the world’s oceans, aboard a nuclear submarine.
